Airbus A-319-112 msn 2186 was built in Hamburg and first flew on 18 FEB 2004. Delivered to Air Malta, the aircraft was named ‘San Pawl il-Bahar’ after the fishing village to the North of the island. It served with Malta’s national airline until it was leased to Atlantic Airways, being re-registered OY-RCH. Returned to Air Malta at the end of its lease, the aircraft was never painted in Air Malta’s latest livery, but retained its white and blue colour scheme. At the end of its lease, it was ferried to Cotswolds Airport on 08 OCT 2019 to be broken up for spares.
The A319 is one of the members of Airbus' highly successful single aisle airliner family currently in service, and competes with Boeing's 737-300 and 737-700.
